The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia (and other Zelda history books) are half off

It’s not even October, and yet the early Prime Day deals have started in earnest. If you’re looking for the best gift for The Legend of Zelda fan in your life — which, 0f course, can be the person you see in the mirror — consider picking up this trio of official hardcover books that covers the history of Link’s and Zelda’s adventures: The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia, Arts & Artifacts, and Hyrule Historia. Each one is on sale for around half off each or you pick up the whole set for under $65 total (normally $130).

Each book is a compendium that looks back on the franchise’s history up to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, meaning it covers the first 30 years but not the more recent Switch era. They all feature behind-the-scenes art, plus interviews with key figures from the franchise’s history like Shigeru Miyamoto and series producer Eiji Aonuma. The Legend of Zelda Encyclopedia also includes the official timeline, which that alone might make it worth a perusal.

Need more Zelda gift ideas? The new Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is now available, but if you’re looking to up the ante a bit, consider this new Nintendo Switch Lite Hyrule Edition.
